#Curator-farmer TASK 6

Hi bloggers!! My name is Mª Cruz and this week I have been the Umpalumpa's curator-farmer. This week we have done two diferents activities. Both of them are related to primary education and the effect that the LOE and LOMCE have caused on them. The first mindmap,"Primary School", was made with mindmeister and the second one, "Administration and Governance at local and/or institution level I", with Examtime. We divided all the work in two parts to organize in a better way, so we made two little sub-groups to made each group a mindmap. My experience as a curator-farmer hasn't been so hard, because altought I had to collect all the references that we had used, most of them were suggested on the activity explication. Despite this, I'm a bit bad with some programmes so I had to ask some help to understand how to use "pearltrees". So, finally when I understood all, I ended up thinking it was not as difficult as it seemed. Here, you have the two mindmaps with all the references that we used in both activities:

TASK 6, by losumpalumpas01

Task 6 - Analyst

Hi guys! I’m Maria and I am here again! This week my role has been analyst and now, I’m going to explain you some important aspects of the task 6.

First of all, I’m going to do a little summary of this task. We had to do a conceptual map about two topics which had been assigned before. Our group did this work about topic two and five. Well, when we know what the work was about, our facilitator Alba suggest us a way of working……and……WE WORK AT IT!

We had problems to meet all of us in the same day, so we divided the group. In one hand, Cristina, Alba, Yolanda and Ana with the topic two and Manuel, Mari Cruz, Blanca and me with the topic five. Our classmates met on Thursday and the other group met on Sunday although it was so late we want met before but we have got problems with the hours. And then when we could meet we had to Skype with our colleague Mari Cruz too.

Other negative thing about this work is that in a first moment we thought that we have to do all topics and we divided it and some days after, we realized that we were wrong. Coincidentally, the topic that I had read was the one what we had to use, then I explained it to they and all of us started to look for something in the LOMCE. We were tired because the work was longer than we thought but finally we finished the task. As we did this on Saturday we couldn’t print it and our teacher say us that it is our problem. We agree with her and we know that we can’t retard works.

This is the third negative aspect. Teacher said us that in all works we had mistakes, some of them easy errors but after all are. We don’t think that negative is that Linda has said it but it is negative for us that we have had some errors. We are going to use this wake-up call to improve in all of the aspects of this subject.

Quiet! Everything of this week hasn’t been bad! I think that the most important idea is that we understand better the LOMCE. From here, other positive aspect is that each week we learn more to work like a team, helping between us.

On last Monday, we had to do a conceptual map between three groups, Merkaats, SevenUP and Umpalumpas, we mixed two of them. Umpalumpas’ Cmap was the based and then we added things about SevenUp’s Cmap. And it’s positive for us that in the two groups, that we made between this three teams, our Cmaps was chosen like general Cmaps base.

The worst moment of this work I think that it has been when we had to present the Cmaps and they hadn’t been printed yet. We have to improve, in general we have good ideas but small errors kill us! We are going to amend it! And the best moment was when we finished this work because this has been laboured. Other aspect is what we have learnt. In addition, about the LOMCE, we have learned to relate concepts more easily.

And finally, my opinion about this role is that it isn’t so difficult to do. It’s fine that we advise between us for working. I think it is a way of helping and to make it more confidently.
And it’s all bloggers! Good holiday!

Maria xx

Task 6 - Translator

Hello people! I am Manu and this week I have been the translator of Umpalumpa's group. As translator, I have to choose five important terms that we have learnt in this task. The task 6 was about LOE and LOMCE, so I have chosen five terms related with these.

LOMCE: It is a framework law that was approved on 28th December of 2013 and published in BOE on 10th of December. It's a law created to improve the last law, LOE. In summary, LOMCE is "a set of measures intended to improve conditions for all students to acquire and express their talents and to achieve their full personal and professional development, and support equal opportunities".

LOE: "It was the last law before the present law, LOMCE. It regulates the structure and organization of the education system at non-university levels. In LOE are reiterated the principles and rights recognized in the Constitution and defending a new law on quality and equity for all. It emphasizes the inclusive character of education, equal treatment and non-discrimination of persons under any circumstances".

The LOE has a public service character in education and it is considered essential in the society.

Education: It is the process in which a person is stimulated to develop their cognitive and physical capabilities in order to feel integrated into the society.

Law: "It is any written or positive rule or collection of rules prescribed under the authority of the state or nation, as by the people in its constitution".

Conceptual map/Concept map: "Concept maps are graphical tools for organizing and representing knowledge. They include concepts, usually enclosed in circles or boxes of some type, and relationships between concepts indicated by a connecting line linking two concepts"

These are the words that I have considered the most relevant. I hope that it helps you to know more about this.

Thanks for your attention, see you soon!!

Journalist Task 6

Hi guys! I´m Ana and this week I have been the journalist of the Umpalumpa's group.
This week we have had to do two conceptual maps about two topics , (number 2 and 5) , but because neither of the maps had anything to do with each other, we distributed the work in class on Monday. Furthermore, for different reasons this week it has been impossible for all the components of the group to meet an entire afternoon.

According to that, half of the group met on Thursday afternoon and we started to do the conceptual map about topic number 2. First of all, we had to look for information about the LOMCE and the LOE and undertand the differences between the two laws, so we spent a lot of time doing it. It wasn´t eassy. After, we started to do the conceptual map but we didn't finish it so we had to meet an other day to do it corretly.

In the minetime, the other four components of the group met on Wednesday and they started to do the other conceptual map about topic number 5. They called us to find out what webside we had used and to ask what we had done . But because it is a task that requires time if you want to do it well so they weren't able to finish it like us. Therefore, they got together another day apart from Wednesday.

In order to complete our two conceptual maps, the part of the group that had to do it about topic 2 met on Friday to finish it. Because we already knew how to use the webside mindmaster perfectly, we did it faster than the other day so it was a very productive afternoon.

And the same happened with the other part of the group. They finished it on Saturday and we shared the two conceptual maps in order to see if we had to complete them.
Both of the conceptual maps were complete and we decided to print them at the university on Monday morning.

We have never had any problem printing tasks, so we met 20 minutes before the class. Unfortunatly the computer didn't read the USB and because we had to wait in the queue, it was already 9 o'clock. We made a mistake due to the lack of time. Instead of only one member of the group going to pint it, we decided that half of the mmber should go while the other half went to class. When Linda asked for all the conceptual maps we didn't have them. We felt very anoyed because we had worked a lot on that task. However, we have learnt about this and next time we will go and print it out before.

On Monday we were working with Seven Up group and Merkats group:

Now, I'm going to recommend you a blog of one group of class and another one outside the university.

http://powerteachers15.blogspot.com.es/

In my opinion, Power teachers group work very well and I like what they write in their post, overcoat their tittles! Moreover their conceptual map of this week is very complete. They are working every week so hard!

This is a teacher's blog I have found . I think her opinion could be interesting because she is against the eduction system like our task that we were working this week.

#Facilitator Acitvity 6..

Hello again dear bloggers!! I'm Alba and this week I have been the facilitator of Umpalumpa's Group. This week we have to work in  two conceptual maps about LOE and LOMCE and I, as facilitator, I checked and distributed the work between my colleagues.

As we are eight people in the group and we had to make two maps ,I decided to divided us into  two grous of four person and each group would do a map. This strategy work well because  the work was more rapid and effective and only we had to meet to share ideas.

The monday in class, we had problems to print the map and the teacher felt disappointed with us making us feel bad because we don't see our efforts reflected but after a conversation with my colleagues as facilitator we decided to do our best and motivate for future activities and correct our errors.

As facilitator, I felt very sad because I didn't know to control the situation when everything went wrong but  with errors you learn and hopefully I learn from mine and achieve my goals..

Nobody said it was easy but promised it would be worth!!!!

See you next week, XoXo Alba Ruiz López .

Star of TASK 6, step 1.

Hi, everyone!

My name is Cristina Menargues and this week I’m the star, so, I’m going to tell you how was my experience.

On Monday, the 16th of March, our teacher explained to us the new task: “Changes in the Spanish Educational System Overview: The Game”, which has five steps. This week, we had to do the first step; understand the basics of the primary school and the administration and governance at local and/or institutional level I in the new educational law; the LOMCE.  These are the topics that we had to do for later, make a conceptual map with an internet mapping tool, mindmeister, in which we had to compared the previous educational law, LOE, with the new, LOMCE, and write the new modifications and the changes between them.

That was the task for this week and now, I’m going to explain my experience as star.

First of all, I have to tell you that when our teacher explained to us the task and she told us that the stars henceforth didn’t have to do an oral presentation I felt really relieved, because even if I had tried to do my best, I would have put quite nervous. Nevertheless, I had to work with my group as every week in the task.

The result of our work is the following:

In this topic we had to be clear about:
  • Aim and general objectives.
  • Schools providing Primary Education.
  • Education Policy.
  • Legislative references.

And what we learnt of those specific contents is showed in this conceptual map, the same of in the second in which we had to be clear about:
  • Administration at educational institutions level.
  • Non-university institutions.
  • Pedagogical and curricular organization.
  • Organisational management.
  • Management of resources.
On Monday, the 24th of March, we started bad the day, because we couldn’t printed the conceptual map before, so we decided print it that morning, what resulted be a mistake and a bad idea, since we had problems to print it and some of our members were in class and the others trying to solve the problem. It was a bad experience because I felt very powerless not being able to show the work that had taken us so long to do.

While our members were out of the class, Linda, our teacher, explained to us that the star could be the visitor, the native and only a star, and then, work with the others group that had our same topic that I told you previously. First, I was very confused because with the nervous that I had for don’t have the conceptual map I didn’t understand it well,  but then,  the members of my group achieve to solve the problem and they could printed it so I could relax myself and start to work with the groups: “Meerkats” and “7up”.

On the one hand, my group had to divide and some of the members work with the topic of “Administration and Governance at Local and/or Institutional Level I” and three of the members of my group and me worked with the conceptual map of “The Primary School”. In this case, I worked with the evaluators of the evaluation and with the native group,   “Meerkats”.

In this moment, I realised that our conceptual map was in part wrong, because we explained the LOE too, but we can work with the part of LOMCE, so I consider that it could be worst. The task was evaluating the work of the others consensually and I believe that it was very easy if we follow the criteria that we chose.

On the other hand, after evaluated the works, we had to choose the most completed conceptual map and deleted some concepts and write others of the maps of the others group. We chose our work and then, we set to work for the native group could upload it easily.

In general aspects, at first I felt very uncomfortable when we hadn’t the work printed, but then, I believe that work with those groups was terrific, we hadn’t no problem.

Regards!!

Task 5 - Journalist

Hi people! I'm Manu and this week I have been the journalist, so I have to tell the story of my group and to explain how we have worked.

This week we had to make an animated video about what we have learnt during the course of educational resources. For this, we have used the web Moovly 2.0 in where we summarised things like what TPACK is, and the rest of information we knew thanks to the activities that we have done.

On Wednesday (11 of March), we met for trying to do the activity 5. I say “try” because it seemed to be very difficult, but finally, it was easier than we thought. Well, I’m not saying that this activity were easy but thanks to our companionship we finished it.

On Monday (16 March), each star showed the video of their own group, and they had to tell to the class why his/her group should win. Here you have our video, we have uploaded it before, but here you have again for your entertainment.

And now, I would like to recommend you the blog of our classmates called "ItsChool" (http://organizeyoureducation.blogspot.com.es/). I think that they have done a really good job this week and, in general, they usually work hard and it is reflected in their outcome.

Finally, I would like you to advice a blog called "Crea y aprende con Laura" (http://creaconlaura.blogspot.com.es/) because in this blog, you can learn a lot of things about technologies and how to use them for education.

Thanks for your attention, see you soon!!

Facilitator (task 5)

Hey there, my name is Blanca and this week I have been the facilitator of  the umpalumpa's group.

As a facilitator, my goal is to divide the work into sections. Each component of the group should do what I say (excluding bad things haha)
First of all I'd like to explain to you that the video (moovly) was made by any of us individually. We used the computer by turns, each one had fifteen minutes for making some progress by her own on the computer. When one of us finished her part, it was shown to the classmates, looking for their "yes".
Later, I'd like to remark that we hadn't got a clear idea about the topic of the video, so it can be said that it was a "brainstorm", which, after being carefully meditated we chose those ilustrations.
At first none of us knew how to use it, but thanks to our technological boy Manu, we were able to make it work and to upload the video without any problem!!

The song we chose at first has been erased since it hasn't got a creative common licence so it is not as useful as we expected.
This work hasn't been the largest one in our trajectory due to the fact that we have only met once. The moovly was quite easy and simple (once we learnt how to use it;)) and in my opinion we are improving a lot day by day, maybe because we work as hard as we can and we are so encouraged that everything seems to be eassier :D

What about our grades and our opinions? Here you have:

Platypus: We decided to give them only 3 points due to the audio. It was difficult to understand clearly what was saying.  Apart from this, the content was totally perfect. (3P)

Power puff teachers: the video was good but the voice was poor and many of us could not hear it. Anyway, I think they can improve a lot, so keep on working girls!! (4P)

Busy bees: we consider their video ti be one of the most original, but, in contrast the content wasn't vert clear and the presentation failed many times. (5p)

Power teachers: their video was clear and the music they used was also very cute, but we consider that it needed more creativity.  (6p)

Meerkats: their video was quite interesting and amazing, and their way of representing ir was original without any doubt! (7p)

Seven up: We think that their video is very complet and they have done a good work. There are lots of images that facilitate the comprension. (8p)

Our 10 points go to... Keep calm and keep organized! We like it so much because of the way which they have explained us all they have learnt. It was very original. Furthermore they give us small and grat flags to animate the group

And finally, our 12 points go to...
It'sChOOl's blog!!
What we like of their video was the animation. It is flushy and very funny, with time enough to read the content .

#Translator (TASK 5)

Hi, everyone! My name is Cristina Menargues and this week my role is being the translator of my group, so, I would like to tell you what concepts I consider very important of the task 5.

First, I’m going to explain you the task of this week; we had to make a video summarizing what we have learnt until now on this subject, including in the video the concepts that our teacher, Linda, explained to us. We decided to use moovly and we had to do the video in an interactive and attractive way.

The words that I have chosen are:

  • Moovly: It is a tool that allows you to create an animation in a video, with several figures, text formats and effects that you can include. Also, you can include your own pictures, sounds and videos to make it more interactive.

  •  Powtons: It is easy a tool that permits you to create an animated video, with some figures, text formats and effects that you can include. Besides, you can include your own pictures, sounds and videos to make it more attractive.

  • Summary: Synthetize one or more concepts, paragraphs, texts and so on, and make them shorter and clearer than before. For do it, you should have clear the main ideas of what you are abbreviate.

  •        Animated video: “It is a video in which the graphic design has the main role, since it intervene in elements such us the illustration, creating characters, use of typography, colour and sound to create an animation.” (Medina, 2013) Medina, C. Diseño y Multimedia:“Video animación para promover alternativas de movilidad              en la ciudad de Cuenca.”.

  •  Jamendo: It is a website and at the same time it is a tool that you can use to download music without copyright, because you have the permission of the author to use it. It is a website which uses Creative Commons Licenses. Furthermore, the songs are ordered by categories:  pop, rock, ambient…

I hope those concepts help you!

      Regards!

Task 5- Analyst

Hi everybody!! I'm Ana and this week I have been the analyst.
Fist of all, I want to talk about my impression about this roll. In my opinion the worst roll of this subject is the analyst. It is hard when you have to fail one of your mates because it is true that we have to learn to evaluate due to the fact that it is going to be our work in a future. However, failing one of your students isn't the same as failing your classmate who is working with you all day. Nevertheless we are adults and we know when we did something wrong. We have to use this to improve our mistakes and to contribute it all in order to get better every week.
Well, after that little introduction let's analys our work.
The activity of this las week , was to create a video about everything we have learnt. Linda gave us the webpage where we could make the video so it wasn't necessary to look for different pages to do it, what made us gain time.

At first we explored the moovly web page. We saw all kind of draws and icons and all the different animation that we could include. It was funy to discover that page, because to the mayority of us, it was the first time that we had to create a video. Then, after getting to know everything we coud use, we started to think about the little story which had to transmit all our learned knowledge.

Undoubtedly that was the best moment because each one said her own idea in order to put a little contribution of each one of the group and put together all our creative. We had a fantastic and imaginative time.

The worse part of the activity was the lack of time because the video only could last 1 minute and a half so we couldn't reflect all the ideas that we had thought.

What we think that we have to do to improve as a group is to bring more ideas before meeting for doing the task in order to work faster, corretly and accuratly. Despite all this, I think that we work very well together and I have to say that we have learnt a lot working in groups. You learn values that working individually get lost.

In our degree is crucial to be creative and imaginative because we are going to work with little kids. We have to think like them to get their attention so that we have to do a striking and funny work. That's the reason why I liked task 5 so much.
However, apart from this, remember that there are lots of things we have to learn to get to the top of the montain. Never stop learning!
And that's all for this week guys. Hope you like it :)

Ana Lorente Ruiz.

Task 5 - Curator-Farmer

Hi bloggers! I´m María and this week I have been the curator farmer.
First of all, this task consisted on a compilation of our different works during two months. Then, we haven´t had to search for new information because as I have said we made a video summary with our previous works. In the mind map that I have put in this post there are three references about webs that we have used to make the video (flickr, jamendo and moovly).

We have used these webs for getting photos (flickr) and music (jamendo) with creative common licence. And also moovly for making the video.

Finally I would say that I have learnt to use pearltrees, jamendo and moovly.

Kind regards
Maria xx

My experience as Star!! (TASK 5)

Hello everybody! I am Yolanda, and this week I had been the star of my group.
At first, I was so worried because I get nervous when I have to do an exposition, but then I realised that this exposition was easier than other practices that we had to expose.
Nevertheless, I had to prepare an introduction for the video summarizing what we had done and why we had to win.  We, as a group, know that our video could be better, but we think that we have improved so much since the first week in this course of Resources.

Now, I am going to explain you what have we done this Monday in class.
First, our teacher Linda assigned us a number for doing the exposition and show the video. We were the number 7, so I had time to relax a little.
Then all of the groups showed us their videos in the program called moov.ly showing the learning in this subject. All of us had to include since the first activity about T-PACK until the last activity about ``the dark side of textbooks´´.
Through other contents like cartographic projections (Robinson, Azimuthal and Mercator) , Creative Commons Licenses and how to do a good presentation.
Then we have done a contest like Eurovision which all of the groups have to punctuate the video of their classmates.

We have to say that we have learnt so much in this subject, specially, how to use Creative Commons Licenses, so now, we use it for everything that we have to do, also in other subjects, we have improved a lot, and as a group we are better day by day.

Here you have our video, we hope you like it.

Regards, Yolanda:)

#Curator-Farmer (Task 4)

Hello everybody! I´m Ana and this week I have been the curator farmer of my group.
This week we have done an activity about the dark side of the textbooks and obviously, we have had to inform us before make the task. I was in charge of collect all the references and translate it into a mindmap. Honestly, it wasn´t esay at all.

Nowadays there are lots of websides and apps that I´ve never seen before, so I have realised that I have to learn a lot about media. Fortunately, all my mates have helped me and I finally I succeeded it.

I have learnt to use pearltrees and to put all the references in APA style, something that is also new for me. I hope to learn much more in order to advance in this big virtual world.
At the end you can see the mindmap with all the references we used.

TASK 4: The dark side of textbooks, by losumpalumpas01

Analyst: Task 4 - "The dark side of textbooks"

Hi people!! My name is Manu and this week I have been the analyst.  First, I'm going to explain how was this week with my group and then, my experience as analyst.

First of all, I would like to tell you what the activity was about. We had to design an infographic about “the dark side of textbooks”. The best part of the activity was thinking about how we were going to create the infographic because all of us had great ideas for doing it and we liked to share it in our infographic.

Then, the worse part of the activity was choosing the best web program, because there were a lot, and we had to choose the one in which we could do what we wanted. It was difficult but, finally, we did it. The best moment of the week was the day we met, when we were designing the infographic, because we enjoyed sharing our ideas and talking about how our classmates would understand thing better. We have learnt that in textbooks are so bad for educating people, because some authors give their point of view or their political ideologies in their textbooks, and it affects to the people who read it. Also, textbooks limit child’s knowledge and, of course, all people can’t buy all textbooks because they are so expensive.

As a group, we need to conserve the motivation and the way what we have worked, because we were very comfortable doing the activity. We need to improve the way we prepare the exposition, because I think that we focus on the information and not enough in the exposition of it, but this week we have improved it regarding to the last week.

About the relation of contents with others, I must say that it has lots of relation with, for example, “ICT and research” because we learnt how to use different technology tools that can help us to improve our work instead of textbooks.

Nowadays, we can relate this content with politic or news, because when we read an article from a political party or we watch a new in the TV, they are telling us what they want and it could affect in our ideology or in our way to see something.

Summarizing, textbooks should be used as a teaching tool, not as a guide. We must use other tools like digital books or other technologies to improve our way of teaching, and to have other teaching’s methods.

Thanks for your attention! :)

#Star, my feelings, my goals..

Hi bloggers, like other weeks I'm here again. This week I have had the role of the star. To be honest this role is the more complicated for me because I'm not very good at exposing so it has been a challenge for me. The activity of this week has been doing a comic, infographic or ... and we decided to do an infographic.
The missionof the star this week was answer the questions that our partners had and explain to the teacher the doubts that she had about our infographic.

We decided to put a women set on fire the books because the teachers are leaving the books by other ways to teach and we put the principals problems that we found in the books : unavailable prizes, they promote de cuture of the dominant groups, they limit the knowledge of the children, the curriculum limited the teaching of the teachers and they promote political ideologies.

Linda ask me what thing had surprised me and I asked her that in books women cook and men work and some people are in desagree with taht and the pictures of the books have had to disapear.

This role I've learned that I can explain in English better than I thought but I hope to improve day a day.

At the end, you have the infographic in English and Spanish.

Thanks for reading us every week!! XoXo. Alba Ruiz López.

#Facilitator (TASK 4)

Hi! My name is MªCruz and this week I have been the facilitator of my group.
My work is divide, coordinate and organize the work of this week, to make it be as effective as is possible, and we can get the better of us to learn and perform well the activity. This week the topic was "The Dark Side of Books" in which we tried to show the disadvantages and drawbacks of using a textbook.

For me, the most important thing to perform well the work is that there must be a good companionship in the group and all members should contribute equally in order to take advantage of time.

This week we were quite excited because we were going to make a new activity that we had never done before, we were going to make an infographic. It was a challenge for everyone, because most of us are not very good with computers. Luckily we have a partner who is a "machine" with gadgets and she was guiding and teaching how ito used it.

At first, as I said before, we were quite excited, but we did not know all that was entailed, because we had to read several studies to performed it. Therefore, we try to lead a good organization from the beginning.

On Thursday after understand the activity in class, we divided the studies among several members of the group and another person to create an account on the page "Easel.ly" where we were to perform the activity.
We met on Tuesday afternoon, and that's when people who had read the studies explained to other people in the group what the text meant and what were the main ideas of these. After that, one of the girls of the group explained to the middle of the group how to use the program (she has investigated during the weekend), while the other group members began to think about ideas for the infographic. First of all we wanted to show the "Quijote" burning a pile of books and different ideas getting out there, but the program did not allow us to do it, so, therefore, at the end it came a little different than we thought.
We made a small schema collecting ideas from each of the studies and started.
With the finished work the "star" prepare carefully her paper, because she would have to explain to our colleagues if someone wouldn't understand something.

This week apart to discover all the disadvantages that produces the use of textbooks in the classroom, we have learned to work better together. It is a gradual work, that we are developing since we started this work, in which we work as the group work as the different tools that we have used to express or explain different topics.
That is why, I believe that every week we have been improving gradually, we started being a group that barely knew each other and which sometimes was hard to meet everyone to do the work, until we finally learned to organize and work in set.

This week I think honestly it has not been bad part because we have organized quite well, so we are quite happy with our teamwork.

WE HOPE YOU ENJOYED OUR WORK!
